Where to Find Fellow Aircraft Hobbyists?

In this day and age, it is not hard to find people who share the same passion in life. Many websites and online groups are created to cater to different interests. From cooking to flying, there is no hobby left out. You have to look diligently to find one that suits you.

Just in the United States, there are already 1,449 flying groups! We will spare you the long and laborious process of finding a club and list some that can be found in the state of California. We have done this with the help of this organization – the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).

First, let us introduce you to AOPA. This non-profit organization advocates for general aviation. It enables pilots to experience the different exclusive benefits of a flying club membership. It exists to serve the interests of its members as aircraft owners and pilots. It prioritizes the promotion of the economy, safety, utility, and popularity of flight in general aviation aircraft.

Membership to the organization requires the payment of a minimal fee. As introductory members, you only need to pay $59 for the first year. Regular membership costs $79. Extra fees apply for additional benefits.

AOPA also helps pilots, both beginners or seasoned ones, to look for a flying club suited to them. It connects pilots to specific flying clubs they like. Joining a flying club has a lot of advantages. The flying club gives the pilot excellent access to aircrafts, and other pilots or aircraft enthusiasts.

Here are some of the flying clubs in the State of California that you may want to check out:

Empire Aero Club
Empire Aero Club is incorporated in California. Since its creation in 2001, it has been providing membership sports benefits and recreation clubs from Santa Rosa. They also have aircraft for rental and use of its members.

Oakdale Aero Club
